UPside2Downs is putting a twist on the dreary imaginations put on our children and adults that have Down Syndrome. We are an organization that is going to aid and include those with Down Syndrome into society, and not as second class citizens. We are equipping our families with the knowledge to know how to allow their children to have every opportunity that everyone else has. When you involve the community and local agencies, we belive that acceptance and inclusion will blend into one. Believe me, there is an UPside to Down Syndrome.
UPside2Downs le da un giro positivo al concepto que tenemos sobre niños y adultos con Sindrome de Down. Upside2Downs es una organizacion creada para ayudar e incluir aquellos con Sindrome de Down en nuestra sociedad y no como ciudadanos de segunda clase. Nosotros educamos a nuestras familias con conocimiento que estas pueden utilizar para el desarrollo de sus niños y a su vez estos tengan las mismas oportunidades que cualquier otro individuo en esta sociedad. Cuando las agencias y las comunidades se envuelven para promover y aceptar cualquier tipo de impedimento en nuestra sociedad unimos fuerzas para el exito de nuestros niños. Creeme existe un lado positivo para el Sindrome de Down.
A little about Us
We started Upside2downs on Oct 16, 2008. Since then GOD has really moved us into many areas. We have been involved with many different agencies in the community. Spreading awareness and education is our number one goal. We vowed that we were not going to be another group that just assembled to sit and drink coffee, but instead to share our concerns and issues that we are having with this condition. We are here to encourage, educate and inspire our children and ourselves. Like I said before the only thing that can limit our children is us. We vow to accumulate the knowledge and resources to give our parents the tools to allow our kids success in life. We meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month between 5:30pm - 7:00pm at My Father's Vineyard. We need each other to make it through this so be excited and involved with new ideas and comments to help us be the best we can be.
